The Coveteur: Coco Chanel’s Apartment

I don't think there is an interior design collection of pictures I wanted to see more!!

I saw glimpses of the apartment in Coco Before Chanel starring Tautou and the feeling that I got from it was that it had a classic luxurious theme with an art deco staircase, but what these pictures showed was a different story. On closer inspection you see that Coco had quite an eclectic sense of style which incorporated an interesting mix of French classic furniture, antiquities, Italian influences and Japanese deers. At the time, it was really exceptional to mix Orient and Occident- when East meets west.

  8. This decor is so amazing! I can't even decide what room I like most, the dreamiest however is that mirror staircase! I read several biographies of Coco Chanel and I can just picture her sitting on those stairs watching the models presenting her creations!
