Outfit | Black Shearling Biker
(Vintage Espirt tee, Topshop shearling jacket, Alexander Wang kitted trousers, Jack Purcell X Converse sneakers, Proenza Schouler PS1, Primark ring)
Finally got the Alexander Wang kitted pants to go with something.
They were the new addition to my pants shelf about... 11 months ago. And for those 11 months I have been trying to think of a way to wear them. It's quite ridiculous it took me this long. I kept on trying to force them to go with some sort of ankle boot, but each time they clashed horrendously. This morning was especially frosty so I gave Wang another go and paired it with Jacket Purcell Converse. The result, a match in heaven. These converses, I SWEAR, go with everything and anything, hence why they look so beaten and worn down and seem to be on the final leg of their wearability. I already have back-ups in case these ones break down on me.
I know I am going to offend many people right now but... I just have to say it. I don't like the bog standard converses. The design is great, its classic and my favourite pair of shoes take inspiration from it BUT it's just too... common. Yeah that's my problem... I don't really want to stroll down Oxford St and see 472369 people in 10 seconds wearing the same shoe as me! It would feel like I'm conforming to some sort of unofficial rule of street-wear. I love my sneakers because they're of the same species of shoe but they have a whole other thing going on with them. Jack Purcells have a leather body (that bit where its black is made of leather), and that line at the toe cap, I LOVE IT, it's a simple change to the original converse but it makes a HUGE difference, somehow it makes the shoe really HOT!
So what do you think?
Converses... HOT or NOT?
OR are Jack Purcells the best :D ?

Your skin is stunning.. which foundation are you wearing!

@ Ellie
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!! I am not wearing foundation all over my face, I only wear it in two places, I dab some Clinque Super Balanced on a spot scar i have near my eye brow, you can still kind of see it... and then on my T-zone I use YSL Perfect Touch and then the magic powder... MAC Studio Fix all over, just a light dusting to my fave doesn't look shiny. If your skin is spot pone, I highly recommend NOT using any liquid foundation because it clogs up your pores, use a mineral foundation like Bare Escentuals because it contains all the vitamins and goodness your skin needs and it also lets your skin breath, as a result you may even get less spots with that! They have a starter kit for about £45? My best friend uses this and she hasn't looked back since! You've probably heard the next thing like 3298470823times, but lots of fruit and veg will do wonders to your skin! Avoid all fried/oily foods, they will make your skin oily and urgh! I hope this has helped you!! xxx
i love your jacket and bag...but i don't wear flats so i can't really comment on the converse! x
ReplyDeleteLove your Jacket! I actually don't own either but I do love your JP's :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteI've never worn converse's but I've had my eye on a leather pair for a while now. The Wang trousers are beautiful, but I totally get why they were difficult to wear with anything other than converse.
